Bagh-e Eram

The superb Eram Garden, which is now a spot for botanists due to its heavenly plants and flowers, dates back to the Ilkhanate era. When Nasereddin Shah ruled over Iran, Haj Nasirolmolk Shirazi purchased the majestic garden and completed its current construction.

The principal three- storey mansion is built inside an impressive garden. Colorful glazed tiles on the entrance of the building depict the stories of Shahnameh, and images of the Qajar king, Nasereddin Shah. The bottom floor has Howzkhaneh (a wonderful pool) and serves as a peaceful place on hot summer days. A stream runs straight through the hall and flows into a big pool.

The hall stands beautifully on a two-column structure.

In front of the mansion amid the garden stands a large pool, reflecting the admirable image of the building.

Additionally, two wells are dug in the garden. Pumped water from them feed the plants all around the heavenly garden. Soaring trees, citrus trees, and the falls catch the eyes of travelers at first sight.

The awesome vegetation truly attracts visitors; tall maples, poplar, eucalyptus, willow and pine as well as a variety of fruit trees such as pomegranates, raspberries, oranges, persimmons, apricots, almonds, apples, pears and citrus multiply the delightfulness and charm of the plot.
